Playing Nice

Just Watched the new ITV drama called Playing Nice featuring James Norton & Niamh Algar.

This is a good drama about two babies who get sent home with the wrong parents but with a twist, which I won’t reveal in case you haven’t seen it.

The story is good, along with the characters & the acting but I think it starts to lose its way in episode three. A new character is introduced into the show when Pete starts to look into Miles’s past and it seems & feels like this should be an important character but in the end, the fact the character was introduced was a waste of time to be honest and didn’t really add anything to the show.

It also felt like there was a bigger back story to Miles but it just got sweet to one side & the story never went down that road which was a shame.

The acting is good, again James Norton shows he is a top actor, even tho he has the same acting style in everything he does, you just can’t help but watch him! Niamh Algar is another great actress but again I’ve seen her in a few things & her acting style seems to be the same in everything she does but again she is a top TV actress.

I think most people would probably work out the twist by the third episode but to be honest I didn’t get it totally right so the ending was a little surprise for me!

For some reason, I keep thinking there is going to be a season two because there are a lot of questions & storylines left open or unanswered.

With that being said, I think this drama will receive a lot of mixed views, probably more on the negative side but for me, it was a good drama, easy to watch with a good cast and a good story.
