One of the best drama’s to hit the BBC this year!

This isn’t another Robin hood remake from the BBC! Instead, it’s actually a very good drama series that will leave you pleasantly surprised.

There hasn’t been much hype around Sherwood and I feel like there wasn’t that much promotion around the series BUT this 2022 BBC drama from James Graham is one of the best drama’s I have seen on the BBC this year (2022)

The drama is based on two murders that took place in the Nottinghamshire mining community where the author grew up and are actually true events that happen in 2004 but certain elements have been fictionalised for the series.

The focus is based around the lives of a mining community which are still divided from the strikes back in the 1980’s, only a few in the community didn’t support the strikes and continued to work during the strikes, which means tensions are already high before any of the murders have taken place.

Each episode brings new information around the characters, so we get a little bit of their own backstory and who relates to who, watch out for a brilliant performance from Adeel Akhtar, who plays Andy Fisher, and an unexpected twist in episode three!

As with all my reviews, I don’t like to give too much away or delve into the story too much, as I feel you should always watch a series yourself without knowing the full story or any giveaways to get the best viewing from it.

The only ‘bad’ point I have around season one is the ending – I think it was a little flat and could have been better.
